Julia Evans is an artist based in Spain. Julia not only creates art but helps others to do so. Her work and teachings are centred around freedom. Believing that freedom of the soul, mind, body and heart is the key to happiness and fulfilment. Julia Studied fine art painting at both Camberwell and Brighton before moving to Spain and opening ArtHouse, a working gallery and school for painting.
Working in oil on canvas and mixed media the main body of her collections leans towards portraiture. Julia is best known for her work influenced by the world of Rock ‘n’Roll. “I focus on portraits of characters that have shaped society. Music culture especially fascinates me as it is an obtainable art form that touches everybody. It has a loud voice that can disrupt society, inspire free thinking and break the system, influencing daily life, fashion, attitudes and language”. Despite this being her main influence Julia feels constrained painting in one particular field, describing herself as spontaneous and often chaotic. She will jump from one subject to another and often work on more then one painting at a time. She is also inspired by Spanish landscapes and culture and The Devine Feminine.
