The central depiction can be found in a lunette in the tomb of Sennedjem, a ‘Servant in the Place of Truth’ in Deir el Medina. The two Anubis jackals, protectors of the deceased and guardians of the netherworld gates are a common image in New Kingdom tombs. The two wedjat eyes of Horus are amulets representing resurrection. The djed pillars at the bottom of the picture are another familiar motif.
