Walled Garden by
This work is largely based on a vignette is from the tomb chapel of the scribe Nebamun, near Thebes; depicting a walled garden, surrounded by palms and popular fig trees. The pool is shown from above, according to the schematic nature of Egyptian representation. Depictions of offerings were common in tombs as a magical and permanent substitute for food and drink in the Afterlife.
